June 5, 2008Fantastic New Playstructure Is Star Attraction as Playworks Atrium Re-opensPrior Lake, Minnesota - Playworks Atrium re-opened recently after a month-long remodel. Birthday parties, group trips, and family play programs are back, with a sparkling new Atrium waiting to entertain kids and parents alike. Highlighting the Atrium’s new look is a bigger, taller, and absolutely fantastic playstructure. “Our goal with the Atrium is to provide an indoor space where families and children can come together to spend quality time,” said Playworks Director Amy Donaldson. “With this new playstructure children automatically move and exercise during play. We want the kids to play and have fun and not even realize they’re exercising.” The playstructure, located in a slightly different spot in the newly remodeled Atrium, offers children an incredible number of twists, turns, webs, bridges, climbs, slides and imaginative and fun activities. Because the playstructure is made out of strong, yet lightweight composite mesh, parents can watch their children playing and having fun inside the playstructure. But parents shouldn’t get too comfortable! The 8’x8’ interactive floor under the playstructure gives parents and children an opportunity to play games and dance together. “We’re very excited about these changes,” said Donaldson. “The new Atrium is a great space for families to have fun playing together as well as for group trips and birthday parties.” As part of the renovation, the Arcade has been moved to a different area inside the Atrium. The Arcade features a variety of new, interactive movement games, along with past favorites, including ticket redemption games. Children love to redeem game tickets at PWs Redemption Counter. The renovation will be conducted in phases. With Phase I, the installation of a new playstructure completed, Playworks is ready to begin work on Phase II. Watch for more interactive, non-violent arcade games like Wii, Playstation 3, and X-Box 360, along with a new host stand, expanded seating, and new flooring. Large screen monitors will be mounted throughout the Atrium and will be available for individual or multi-player games. Phase III will encompass changes to the building including updates to lighting, security cameras, fire alarms, and sprinklers. Playworks will remain open during Phases II and III, with both scheduled for completion in the fall of 2008. Playworks has been providing a one-of-a-kind magical experience for children and their families for 14 years. The new playstructure, new arcade games, and soon to arrive interactive games will keep the magic alive for all those Playworks families looking for a great way to have fun playing together. Stop in today, new Playworks families are always welcome! |
